EV & charging · See it as a driver does

“Can I charge it at home?” Your page just lists the kWh.

You know EVs properly: batteries, charge rates, what a home installation actually involves. But drivers arrive with practical questions about winter range, charging at home and running costs, and a page of specifications doesn't answer them. This playbook shows where those drivers go instead.

The short versionEV specialists and charger installers usually lose drivers because their pages list specifications instead of answering range, home-charging and running-cost questions, installation prices hide behind a survey, and quote requests wait days. Plain answers, clear install pricing and quick photo-based quotes fix most of it.

Why a good EV business still loses the driver

Drivers don't compare kilowatts. They compare reassurance.

Most drivers moving to electric aren't comparing charge rates or battery chemistry. They want to know whether the car gets them to work and back in winter, whether they can charge at home, what installation costs and what they'll spend against fuel. They ask search and AI assistants first, then contact whoever answered plainly. A business that lists specifications and asks for a survey before giving any price is easy to skip.

Why don't drivers find our EV charging business on Google Maps?

Range, charging and running-cost questions dominate an evolving market, and local searches for installers and EV specialists are part of it. A map listing categorised as general electrical work, with no install photos or service area, loses to the installer that filled in its EV detail properly.

Should EV charger installers publish installation prices?

Drivers want a number before they book anything: the standard install price, what's included and what would add to it. “Survey required” reads as expensive and slow. A page that explains a standard install, the common extras and how incentives might apply — dated and kept accurate — is the answer assistants quote.

Why do EV charger quote requests go cold?

Many drivers send photos of their fuse board and parking space soon after ordering a car, because delivery is close. A reply four days later usually finds another installer booked. Forms, email, WhatsApp and calls need one owner, an agreed reply time and a quote given from photos where possible.

Social presence · where drivers check you

They watch a charger install before they ask you for one.

Drivers learn about home charging on video, check installers on the map and send photos for a quote. Six things decide whether a viewer becomes a booked install.

Publish prices?Range claims?Incentives?
Should we publish range figures for the cars we sell?

Give honest ranges and explain what changes them: weather, speed, load and driving style. Quoting only the official figure invites disappointment. We keep wording factual and never present a figure as a promise.

Can we publish a fixed charger installation price?

You can publish a standard install price and say clearly what it covers and what would add to it. Most drivers can then tell whether their home is standard before they contact you, which cuts wasted surveys.

Incentives keep changing. Should we mention them at all?

Yes, on one dated page you check regularly, with plain guidance on who may be eligible and a link to the official source. Avoid repeating scheme details across many pages, where they go out of date unnoticed.

Is it worth answering running-cost questions when tariffs vary so much?

Yes. A calculator using the driver's own mileage and electricity tariff, with stated assumptions, is more useful than any single figure and avoids claims you can't support.

How long before an EV business notices a difference?

Map listing and quoting-speed fixes can show within weeks because they plug existing leaks. Ranking for range and running-cost questions usually takes a few months. We don't guarantee rankings, installs or sales.

We also do workplace and fleet charging. Does that need separate pages?

It should have them. Businesses ask different questions — number of points, load management, access control, reporting — and search differently from home drivers. Treat it as its own journey.

Which social platforms matter most for an EV charging business?

YouTube and your Google Business Profile, with WhatsApp for photo quotes. Drivers learn how home charging works on video, check installers on the map, then send photos for a price. Facebook owner groups bring recommendations; LinkedIn matters once you sell workplace or fleet charging.

Do we get a free website for our business?

Yes. Every monthly plan includes a free 5-page website for your business — fast, AI-readable and yours to keep. It goes live within 48 hours once your plan is active and the launch checklist is done. Your domain, hosting and any paid tools sit outside the offer and stay in your name; online shops and booking systems are quoted separately. What's included
