The job goes to whoever answers. Be the one who does.

How do customers choose a home or trade service now?Copy answer

Customers search on their phone, compare map results and aggregator apps, and contact whoever covers their area and looks credible. Emergencies go to the first business that answers; planned jobs go to whoever explains the price clearly and follows up. Coverage, clear call-out and quote pricing, and reply speed decide it long before anyone reads about experience.

Pick your trade for the version written for your customers: what they type, where they compare, and the three places a good business usually loses the job.

02 · How customers choose

Decided on the map, by whoever replies first.

Demand for home and trade services is immediate, local and increasingly routed through map results and aggregator apps. Customers compare a handful of nearby options, check reviews and coverage, try to work out the call-out or quote, and contact two or three. Whoever covers their area and replies first usually gets the job.

The three moves we'd make first

Own the map pack across every service area you actually cover
Build service-plus-suburb pages that earn the near-me query directly
Automate follow-up so quotes do not go cold over a weekend

Trades are bought on trust, so we only publish what you can back up: licences and certifications you actually hold, real job photos, genuine reviews and prices you'll honour. No invented ratings or “best in town” claims, and anything touching safety, compliance or subsidies is checked by you before it goes live.

Social presence

Trade customers ask local groups, check the map and message whoever looks credible and replies first. Social works as proof of real jobs, and as a fast line in.

Questions trade businesses ask

Straight answers, no sales script.

If yours isn't here, a 30-minute call is the fastest route. No pitch, no deck.

Which playbook should I read first?

The one for your main trade. If you offer several, plumbing and heating for example, start with the one that brings the most urgent calls, then the one with the highest-value quotes. The free audit shows where the biggest leak is.

Do we need our own website if most work comes from aggregator apps?

Apps can be a useful top-up, but their leads are often shared with several businesses, so you race on price and speed. Your own map profile and service-plus-suburb pages bring customers who chose you. Keep the apps if they pay, and track what each source costs per job.

How do we show up in suburbs further from our base?

Set a service area that matches where you really work, build a page for each service in each suburb with real jobs done there, and earn reviews from customers in those areas. Rankings further from your address usually take a few months to move.

We can't answer the phone on a job. What helps?

Missed-call text-back, one inbox for calls, forms and WhatsApp, and an agreed reply time. For emergency trades, an overflow answering route covers the busiest periods. Most lost jobs are a routing problem, not a demand problem.

How long before a trade business notices a difference?

Call-handling and map profile fixes can show within weeks because they recover enquiries you already get. Ranking in new suburbs and for new services usually takes a few months, depending on competition. We don't guarantee rankings or jobs.

Is the website really free?

Yes. Every monthly plan includes a free 5-page website for your business — fast, AI-readable and yours to keep. It goes live within 48 hours once your plan is active and the launch checklist is done. Your domain, hosting and any paid tools sit outside the offer and stay in your name; online shops and booking systems are quoted separately. What's included
