They asked about Bella on Friday. You replied on Monday.
Your kennels are full of animals who'd make someone a great companion. The people who want one are searching right now, locally, and they're ready this weekend. Many end up at a bigger centre or buying online instead. This playbook shows where they go and what to fix first.
The short versionAnimal rescues usually lose adopters because their animals aren't findable outside social media, the adoption fee and process aren't explained, and enquiries about a specific animal wait days for an answer. Live animal pages, a plain fee page and a same-day reply path keep adopters who are ready to act now.

Why a good rescue still loses the adopter
Adopters don't wait. They take the first clear yes.
Someone who has decided to adopt usually wants to meet an animal this week. They search or ask an assistant for rescues nearby, scroll the animals available, check the fee and message two or three places. Whoever answers first with “yes, she's still here, can you come Saturday?” usually gets the visit. A rescue whose animals only appear in old social posts and whose inbox is checked twice a week loses them, often to an online seller.

Why don't adopters find our animal rescue online?
Adoption intent is local and urgent. People search for a dog, cat or rabbit to adopt nearby, and assistants answer with organisations that show animals available now, a clear process and a location. A rescue with animals only on social media gives them nothing to point to.

Should an animal rescue explain its adoption fee?
An adoption fee without an explanation can look like a sale price, and people compare it with buying online. Explain what it covers, from vet checks to microchipping, and what donations fund on top. Answered plainly on the page, it's also the answer assistants quote.

Why do adoption enquiries go cold?
Most adopters message about a specific animal, often in the evening or at the weekend, and they message more than one rescue. A reply days later asking them to fill in a long form usually finds they've adopted elsewhere. One inbox, a same-day reply and live availability on the page fix it.

Questions animal rescues ask
Straight answers, no sales script.
Straight answers. If yours isn't here, a 30-minute call is the fastest route — no pitch, no deck.
We post every animal on social media. Isn't that enough?
It's good for reach, but posts scroll away within a day and can't be found later through search or assistants. A page per animal, shared on social, gives people something to find, send to their partner and come back to.
Will a shorter first step mean worse homes?
No. The checks stay the same; they just come later. A short expression of interest followed by a conversation keeps good homes engaged long enough to complete them, instead of losing them to a long form.
How do we explain the fee without sounding like a shop?
Say what it covers and what it doesn't. Vet checks, vaccinations, neutering, microchipping and kennel time, plus what donations pay for beyond that. Most people are happy to pay for care they can see.
We're volunteer-run. Who answers messages the same day?
A simple rota and one shared inbox, so whoever is on can reply, with templates for common questions and availability shown on each animal's page. It means fewer messages overall, because people can see the answer.
How long before we notice a difference?
Animal pages and reply-time fixes can show in enquiries within weeks, because adopters are already searching. Being named in AI answers usually takes a few months. We don't guarantee mentions, enquiries or adoptions.
Can we use ad grant credits for adoption?
Often, if you're eligible. Adoption, fostering and pet-advice searches in your area are a good use, landing on live animal pages. We set them up so credits stop when an animal is reserved, not after.
Which social platforms matter most for an animal rescue?
Facebook and Instagram, with WhatsApp for replies. Adopters find animals in feeds and local groups and message straight away, so a same-day answer with a visit slot matters more than posting more. Link each post to the animal's own page, keep a Google Business Profile current for visiting hours, and use LinkedIn to approach local business sponsors.
Do we get a free website for our rescue?
Yes. Every monthly plan includes a free 5-page website for your rescue — fast, AI-readable and yours to keep. It goes live within 48 hours once your plan is active and the launch checklist is done. Your domain, hosting and any paid tools sit outside the offer and stay in your name; online shops and booking systems are quoted separately. What's included
