They searched platform plus sector. You list the platform.
Your consultants are certified, your delivery is solid and your reference clients would say so. But an IT director looking for a CRM partner who knows insurance asks for exactly that, and the firms that come back are the ones with a page for that combination — not a logo wall and a list of platforms.
The short versionIT consultancies miss shortlists because buyers search for a platform in their sector, while most sites list platforms and sectors separately. Pages for each platform-and-sector pairing with real case work, a plain explanation of what drives implementation cost, and a same-day answer to RFPs and scoping requests fix most of it.

Why a capable firm still misses the shortlist
Buyers don't shortlist a platform. They shortlist a platform for them.
An IT director can't compare delivery quality before the project starts, so she looks for evidence that a partner has done this exact thing before: the platform she has chosen, in a business like hers, with the integrations she needs. She asks an assistant, checks the vendor directory, reads two case studies and sends an RFP to three firms. A firm without a page for that combination rarely makes the three.

Why don't AI assistants name us as an implementation partner?
Buyers ask for a platform in their sector — “CRM partner for insurers”, “ERP migration for distributors”. Most IT consultancy sites list platforms on one page and sectors on another, so neither search nor assistants can connect them. A smaller partner with one page per combination it has delivered gets named instead.

Should an IT consultancy explain implementation costs online?
Buyers have a budget to protect and a business case to write before they can sign anything. A page that explains what drives cost — users, integrations, data migration, customisation, ongoing support — and how a discovery phase works lets them build that case with you in it. “Contact us for a quote” leaves them to use a rival's numbers.

Why do IT project enquiries go cold?
Scoping requests and RFPs often go to several partners with a short deadline. When the only person who can respond is an architect already on a project, the request waits and the buyer reads it as a lack of capacity. Every request needs an owner, a same-day acknowledgement and a call booked to clarify scope.
What we'd do about it
Five moves, in the order that pays.
Fix the leaks first, then grow. Scaling a funnel that loses enquiries just spends more to lose more.

Questions IT consultancies ask
Straight answers, no sales script.
Straight answers. If yours isn't here, a 30-minute call is the fastest route — no pitch, no deck.
The vendor sends us leads. Why invest in our own visibility?
Keep the vendor leads. But they depend on someone else's priorities, and the same lead often goes to several partners. Your own platform-and-sector pages bring buyers who chose you before they spoke to anyone, which usually makes for a better first conversation.
We work on several platforms. Do we need a page for each one?
A page for each platform-and-sector combination you have real case work for. Not every theoretical pairing — only the ones you can evidence. Thin pages for combinations you haven't delivered do more harm than good.
Can we publish implementation pricing without boxing ourselves in?
Yes. Explain what drives cost, how discovery is scoped and charged, and how licence and services costs differ. You can give typical ranges for a defined starting scope, or leave numbers out entirely and still answer the question properly.
Our clients won't let us name them. What goes in a case study?
The sector, the starting point, the platforms and integrations, the migration, and what went live. A buyer mostly wants to know you've solved their kind of problem. Anything client-specific is approved by the client or anonymised before it's published.
Does vendor partner status count for anything with AI assistants?
It helps as a signal, especially when the vendor's directory lists you clearly. But assistants usually name partners they can find specific evidence for. Your own pages and case notes are what turn a directory entry into a named recommendation.
How long before this shows up in our pipeline?
RFP-response fixes can show within weeks. Platform-and-sector pages usually take a few months to be picked up by search and assistants, depending on competition. We don't guarantee rankings, AI mentions or projects.
Should IT consultants post on LinkedIn themselves, or just the company page?
Both, but people first. Buyers check who would deliver the work, so named consultants posting practical lessons from real rollouts do more than a company page sharing vendor news. The company page collects the case notes and platform-and-sector pages. Keep client names out unless they've agreed, and describe certifications accurately.
Do we get a free website for our firm?
Yes. Every monthly plan includes a free 5-page website for your firm — fast, AI-readable and yours to keep. It goes live within 48 hours once your plan is active and the launch checklist is done. Your domain, hosting and any paid tools sit outside the offer and stay in your name; online shops and booking systems are quoted separately. What's included
