Jewellery · See it as a gift buyer does

The gifting rush peaked last week. Your page went live today.

Your pieces are well made and the people who receive them love them. Yet every anniversary season, festival and wedding rush, gift buyers order from a larger jeweller or a marketplace that was ready first. This playbook shows why the peak is decided before it starts — and in the evening reply.

The short versionMost jewellers lose gift orders because occasion pages go live after demand has peaked, product pages don't prove metal, stones or certification or give an arrives-by date, and engraving or delivery questions sent in the evening are answered after the cut-off. Pages built ahead of the calendar and evening replies fix this.

Why a good jeweller still loses the gift

Gift buyers aren't browsing. They're racing a date.

Much of the jewellery bought online is a gift, and gift buyers search in a narrow window before the occasion: “anniversary necklace”, “birthday gift for her”, “festival earrings”. They want to know it's genuine, that it will arrive in time, that the ring size can be fixed and that it comes wrapped. They decide in a day or two, from whichever store answered those questions. Pages launched after the peak, or a reply after the engraving cut-off, simply miss it.

Why do we miss the gifting rush every year?

Gifting demand peaks hard and briefly: anniversaries, weddings, festivals, birthdays. Marketplaces and larger jewellers have occasion pages indexed weeks ahead, with product data AI shopping answers can use. A store that builds its gift page the week of the occasion is on page three when people are actually buying.

The “is it real, will it arrive” question

Your page“High-quality materials.”Tab closed

What should a jewellery product page show next to the price?

For jewellery, price is weighed against proof: metal and purity, hallmark or certificate, stone details, and whether it arrives before the date with engraving and gift wrap. A price with “high-quality materials” beneath it reads as risk. Specific detail and an arrives-by date beside the price convert better, and they're what AI shopping answers quote.

The engraving question after the cut-off

Can you engrave this and deliver by Saturday? It's our anniversary.WhatsApp · 10:15 pm
Hi! Engraving takes 3–5 working days.Next day · 2:40 pm
Too late now, ordered one that arrives Friday.2:52 pm

Why do jewellery gift enquiries go cold so fast?

“Can you engrave this and get it here by Saturday?” is sent on Wednesday night by someone who will buy from the first store that says yes. Answered on Thursday afternoon, the engraving cut-off has passed and so has the buyer. Deadline questions need one queue, an owner and an evening reply.

What we'd do about it

Five moves, in the order that pays.

Fix the leaks first, then grow. Scaling a funnel that loses enquiries just spends more to lose more.

When to launch?Certificates?Ring sizes?
How early should occasion pages go live?

Weeks ahead of the peak, not the week of it. Pages take time to be indexed and to earn any position, and AI shopping answers draw on what's already there. We work from a gifting calendar for your markets and build backwards from each date.

Should we publish metal and certification details if competitors don't?

Yes. Specific, accurate detail is one of the few things that separates a careful jeweller from a cheap listing. Say what is certified, by whom, and what isn't. Never imply a certification you don't have.

How do we handle ring sizes for gift buyers?

Assume they don't know the size. A gift-buyer sizing guide, a printable sizer and clear resizing terms remove the hesitation. We track size-related returns so you can see whether it's working.

Is it worth running ads outside peak seasons?

Some, for self-purchase, bridal and everyday gifts. Most budget usually belongs in the run-up to peaks, with creative already tested so you aren't experimenting during the busiest week.

How long before a jewellery store notices a difference?

Reply-time and product-detail fixes can show within weeks. Occasion pages built now usually pay off at the next cycle of that occasion, not immediately. We don't guarantee rankings or sales.

Do you work with jewellers who have a physical shop too?

Yes. The shop needs its own map listing and local pages, and many gift buyers research online and collect or buy in store. We can record how in-store buyers found you.

Which social platforms matter most for a jewellery brand?

Instagram, with WhatsApp for the questions that close the sale. Gift buyers discover pieces in feeds, then ask about engraving, size and whether it will arrive in time. Facebook ads reach older gift buyers before each occasion. Plan gift posts weeks ahead of anniversaries, festivals and weddings, and staff the evening inbox before peaks.

Do we get a free website for our store?

Yes. Every monthly plan includes a free 5-page website for your store — fast, AI-readable and yours to keep. It goes live within 48 hours once your plan is active and the launch checklist is done. Your domain, hosting and any paid tools sit outside the offer and stay in your name; online shops and booking systems are quoted separately. What's included
