“Am I fit enough for this?” Your trip page never says.
Your guides are experienced and you run trips carefully. But people planning a trek, a climb or a dive trip ask an assistant about difficulty, fitness, season and safety long before they compare prices — and the operator whose pages answer those questions gets recommended. This playbook shows how to be that operator.
The short versionMost adventure travel companies lose bookings before price comes up: travellers ask assistants and search engines how hard a trip is, how fit they need to be, when to go and how safety is handled, and choose the operator that answers plainly. Honest difficulty and season detail, every extra listed and fast replies to nervous questions win those bookings.

Why a well-run trip still loses the booking
Travellers don't start with price. They start with “can I do it?”
Someone planning their first trek or dive trip has a list of worries before a budget: am I fit enough, what if the weather turns, what happens if I get ill, what does a day actually look like. They ask an assistant, read forums and check two or three operators. The one whose pages answered those questions honestly feels safe to book. Price comes later, and by then the shortlist is often one name.

Why don't AI assistants recommend our adventure trips?
Travellers ask assistants things like “is this trek OK for a beginner” or “which month is best”. The answer draws on operators who describe distance, height gain, terrain, altitude and season in plain detail. A trip page with a grading word and a photo gallery gives the assistant nothing to quote, so it recommends someone else.

Should adventure travel companies list every trip cost?
Adventure trips carry costs a headline price doesn't show: permits, park fees, kit hire, tips, insurance, a single supplement. Travellers comparing two operators can't tell which is better value, and surprises after booking become complaints. Every extra stated next to the price is what assistants quote and what earns trust.

Why do adventure travel enquiries go cold?
Pre-booking questions are often anxious ones: is altitude a problem for me, can I hire boots, what if I can't finish a day. A generic reply days later reassures nobody. A same-day, specific answer — with advice to check with a doctor where health is involved — is often what decides the booking.
What we'd do about it
Five moves, in the order that pays.
Fix the leaks first, then grow. Scaling a funnel that loses enquiries just spends more to lose more.

Questions adventure operators ask
Straight answers, no sales script.
Straight answers. If yours isn't here, a 30-minute call is the fastest route — no pitch, no deck.
Can we talk about safety without sounding as if we're promising it?
Yes. Describe what you actually do: guide qualifications, group ratios, contingency and evacuation plans, insurance requirements. Facts reassure more than adjectives, and they avoid promising that nothing can go wrong. You review every safety page before it goes live.
Will honest difficulty detail put people off?
It puts off the wrong bookings, which is useful. The travellers who stay are the ones likely to enjoy the trip and review it well. Vague grading tends to produce more anxious enquiries, not more bookings.
How do assistants decide which adventure operators to recommend?
They draw on what's published: your trip pages, listings, reviews, forums and articles. Specific detail on route, difficulty and season makes you easier to name. We don't guarantee mentions.
What about health questions from travellers?
We write general guidance on fitness and preparation, and always advise checking health matters with a doctor. We don't write medical advice, and replies to individual health questions should come from your team.
Our season is short. When should marketing start?
Usually months ahead, because people plan adventure trips well before they book. Planning content should be live before the booking window opens, with campaigns timed to the departures that need help.
How long before bookings change?
Reply fixes help straight away. Trip and planning pages usually take a few months to be picked up by search engines and assistants, and seasonality often means the effect shows in the next booking window. We don't guarantee rankings or bookings.
Can we post about safety on social media without promising it?
Yes. Show what you actually do — briefings, kit checks, guide-to-traveller ratios, turn-around rules — and describe risks plainly, without words like “completely safe”. Honest footage of the hard days builds more trust than summit shots, and it attracts travellers who are right for the trip.
Do we get a free website for our company?
Yes. Every monthly plan includes a free 5-page website for your company — fast, AI-readable and yours to keep. It goes live within 48 hours once your plan is active and the launch checklist is done. Your domain, hosting and any paid tools sit outside the offer and stay in your name; online shops and booking systems are quoted separately. What's included
