They read for three weeks. Your site had mood, not answers.
Guests who come leave rested, and many return. But someone choosing a retreat spends weeks researching: what a day actually looks like, who leads it, what the food is, whether they'll be the only beginner. A site of soft photos and big words answers none of it. This playbook shows how substance gets you chosen — and recommended.
The short versionMost wellness retreats lose bookings during a long, personal research phase: guests ask assistants and read for weeks about the schedule, teachers, food, rooms and who the retreat suits, and choose the place that answers specifically. A clear programme and total price, honest descriptions without health claims, and same-day replies win those guests.

Why a good retreat still loses the guest
Guests don't book a feeling. They book a week they can picture.
Choosing a retreat is personal and slow. People read for weeks, ask an assistant to compare a few, and come back with questions only a specific answer settles: will I be the only beginner, can I eat this way, is there time alone, who is teaching. Soft photos and words like “transform” and “reconnect” set a mood, but they don't let anyone picture the week. The retreat that describes it plainly gets the booking.

Why don't AI assistants suggest our wellness retreat?
Guests ask assistants to suggest retreats by style, level, length and setting — “a quiet yoga week for a solo beginner”. The answer draws on retreats that describe the schedule, group size, teachers and food in detail. A site built on atmosphere gives the assistant nothing specific, so it names a retreat that wrote things down.

Should a wellness retreat show its full price online?
Retreats often price the programme, the room and the treatments separately, so guests can't see what a week will actually cost. Comparing two places becomes guesswork, and guesswork tends to end with the one that showed a clear total. Programme, room type, meals, extras and transfers in one place is the answer assistants quote.

Why do our retreat enquiries not turn into bookings?
Retreat enquiries are personal: an old knee injury, a strict diet, travelling alone for the first time. A reply that sends a link to the FAQ page tells the guest nobody read their message. A named person replying the same day, with a real answer and a referral to their doctor where health is concerned, often decides the booking.
What we'd do about it
Five moves, in the order that pays.
Fix the leaks first, then grow. Scaling a funnel that loses enquiries just spends more to lose more.

Questions wellness retreats ask
Straight answers, no sales script.
Straight answers. If yours isn't here, a 30-minute call is the fastest route — no pitch, no deck.
Describe what happens, who leads it and how guests describe the experience, within the advertising rules in your country. We don't write claims that a programme treats, cures or prevents anything, and anything health-related is reviewed by you before it goes live.
Will a detailed schedule make us look rigid?
Usually the opposite. Showing where the free time, optional sessions and quiet hours sit reassures guests that they won't be over-scheduled. People book a week they can picture.
How do assistants decide which retreats to suggest?
They draw on what's published: your pages, directories, reviews and articles. Specific detail on style, level, schedule, food and setting makes you easier to name for the right request. We don't guarantee mentions.
Our guests decide over months. How do we stay in touch without pushing?
A short, consented series that answers the next likely question — the schedule, the food, the journey, what to pack — is useful rather than pushy. It stops when they book or ask it to.
Should we show prices if they vary by room?
Yes, as a total per programme and room type. Guests compare totals, and a clear one tends to beat a programme price with rooms on request.
How long before bookings change?
Reply and pricing fixes can help within weeks. Programme pages and assistant visibility build over a few months, and long decision times mean bookings often follow later. We don't guarantee rankings or bookings.
Which social platforms matter most for a wellness retreat?
Instagram and YouTube, with WhatsApp for replies. Guests follow for months, watching real days, classes and food, then ask personal questions before booking. Keep posts to what happens — schedule, practice, teachers — with no health claims, and answer first-timers personally. Facebook suits past-guest communities.
Do we get a free website for our retreat?
Yes. Every monthly plan includes a free 5-page website for your retreat — fast, AI-readable and yours to keep. It goes live within 48 hours once your plan is active and the launch checklist is done. Your domain, hosting and any paid tools sit outside the offer and stay in your name; online shops and booking systems are quoted separately. What's included
