Exhibitors and visitors land on the same page. Both leave.
Your show has a loyal core of exhibitors and a floor that works. Yet new exhibitors rarely find you, stand enquiries drift, and visitor registrations depend on whoever the exhibitors invite. This playbook shows where both audiences go — and why one homepage serving both usually serves neither.
The short versionMost trade shows lose exhibitors and visitors because both land on one generic page, stand prices and floor-plan availability are hidden behind a form, and stand enquiries wait days for a sales reply. Separate journeys for each audience, a clear stand-pricing page and fast enquiry handling fix this before any extra ad spend.

Why a busy show still loses the exhibitor
Exhibitors buy an audience. Visitors want a reason to go.
A trade show sells two different things to two different people. The exhibitor is buying access to an audience, and wants the visitor profile, floor plan, stand price and deadline before taking it to a budget holder. The visitor wants dates, who is exhibiting and a free badge in under a minute. A single homepage trying to do both, a stand price hidden behind a brochure form and a sales team that replies next week quietly lose both.

Why don't new exhibitors find our trade show?
Trade fair calendars, directories and assistant answers are where exhibitors and visitors often start. A stale listing with last year's dates, a vague sector description and no link to the exhibitor section loses the click to a rival show that kept its details current and consistent.

Should a trade show publish its stand prices?
Exhibitors need a rough number before they can ask for budget: the rate for space only or shell scheme, what a package includes, corner or island premiums and when rates rise. A brochure request with no figures slows that conversation by weeks. A page with ranges and deadlines qualifies serious buyers and gives assistants an answer to repeat.

Why do trade show stand enquiries go cold?
Exhibitors often compare two or three shows at once and book the one that sends a floor plan, availability and a quote first. When a stand enquiry waits in a shared inbox until the sales team gets to it, the best positions go and so does the exhibitor. Every stand enquiry needs an owner and a same-day reply.
What we'd do about it
Five moves, in the order that pays.
Fix the leaks first, then grow. Scaling a funnel that loses enquiries just spends more to lose more.

Questions trade show organisers ask
Straight answers, no sales script.
Straight answers. If yours isn't here, a 30-minute call is the fastest route — no pitch, no deck.
Do exhibitors and visitors really need separate pages?
Yes. They arrive with different questions and different levels of commitment. Exhibitors need audience, floor plan and price; visitors need dates, exhibitors and a free badge. One page serving both usually answers neither well.
Should we publish stand prices?
At least publish ranges and what drives them: space only or shell scheme, corner and island stands, package inclusions, and the date rates change. Exhibitors who can't estimate a cost tend to delay asking for budget.
How do we get more visitors without relying on exhibitors?
You need both. Search and social bring visitors researching the sector, but exhibitor invitations often bring the best-qualified ones. An invite kit with tracked links makes their share easy and measurable.
Are trade fair directories worth the effort?
They're often the first click for both audiences, and assistants read them. Keeping dates, venue and sectors current and consistent across them is low effort and stops a stale listing sending people to a rival.
When should a trade show spend on ads?
Exhibitor ads around rebooking and the main stand-sales push; visitor ads in the final weeks before opening, when registrations naturally rise. Spending evenly all year tends to buy clicks nobody acts on.
How long before we notice a difference?
Faster stand replies and a clear pricing page can show within the current sales cycle. Search visibility for sector pages and a permanent hub usually builds over a few months and across editions. We don't guarantee rankings, stand sales or visitor numbers.
Which social platforms matter most for a trade show?
LinkedIn first, with YouTube for video. New exhibitors check who exhibits and what the floor looks like, and visitors decide from seminars and launches, mostly on LinkedIn. Give exhibitors ready-made posts so they invite their own customers, and keep exhibitor and visitor posts separate so each audience knows what to do next.
Do we get a free website for our show?
Yes. Every monthly plan includes a free 5-page website for your show — fast, AI-readable and yours to keep. It goes live within 48 hours once your plan is active and the launch checklist is done. Your domain, hosting and any paid tools sit outside the offer and stay in your name; online shops and booking systems are quoted separately. What's included
