They needed space near the port. Your site never says where.
Your floor runs well, pick accuracy is good and your clients renew. Yet brands moving out of a garage or away from a failing provider sign with someone else, because the shortlist was decided on location, capacity and sector fit before anyone called you. This playbook shows what that shortlist reads.
The short versionMost 3PLs lose new clients before first contact because their site doesn't state where the warehouse is, what space and sector capability it has, or how storage and pick fees are structured, and because capacity enquiries wait for a callback. Site pages, a plain pricing model and fast, qualified enquiry handling fix this.

Why a good warehouse still loses the client
Clients don't compare warehouses. They compare fit.
A brand or supply-chain manager can't judge your pick accuracy from a website, and doesn't try. They ask search or an assistant for a 3PL in a place, for a sector, connected to their shop or ERP, then look for where the site is, whether it has space now, how fees are structured and how fast someone replies. The shortlist forms in an afternoon. A site that only says “flexible warehousing solutions” is not on it.
Why don't brands find our 3PL when they search for warehousing?
Buyers ask “food-grade 3PL near the port” or “e-commerce fulfilment with marketplace integration in the north”. A site that names a town but not the site, access, capacity or sector capability gives search and assistants nothing to match, so a smaller operator with clear site pages gets the enquiry.

Should a 3PL publish its warehousing prices online?
Every 3PL says pricing depends on the client, which is true and unhelpful. Buyers want the structure: storage per pallet or shelf, inbound, pick and pack, packaging, returns, minimums and contract length. A page that explains it builds trust before the proposal, and it is exactly what assistants quote.

Why do our warehousing enquiries go cold?
A brand that has outgrown its space, or is leaving another provider, often has weeks rather than months. They message three warehouses and go with the one that answers with fit, rough cost and a site visit. A reply that just says “our BD manager will call” usually arrives second.
What we'd do about it
Five moves, in the order that pays.
Fix the leaks first, then grow. Scaling a funnel that loses enquiries just spends more to lose more.

Questions 3PL operators ask
Straight answers, no sales script.
Straight answers. If yours isn't here, a 30-minute call is the fastest route — no pitch, no deck.
Should a 3PL publish its prices when every client is different?
You don't need a rate card, but you should publish the structure: what you charge for storage, inbound, pick and pack, returns and packaging, any minimums, and what moves the price. Buyers who can't find that tend to assume you're expensive or slow.
Should we say how much space we have available?
Say what kind of space you have, the sectors it suits and whether you're taking new clients now. Exact figures go out of date quickly, so we usually publish capacity in plain terms and keep a current note that your team updates.
We rely on brokers and introducers. Do we need our own pipeline?
Introducers are worth keeping, but they can move with one phone call. Brands increasingly research directly and ask assistants for a shortlist first. A clear site, sector and integration presence means they find you before they find a broker.
Do e-commerce brands really choose a 3PL through AI assistants?
Some start there, asking for a 3PL in a region that connects to their shop. Assistants answer from pages they can read and cite. We make your pages easy to cite and track which questions name you; we can't guarantee mentions.
How long before a 3PL notices a difference?
Enquiry handling fixes can show within weeks, because they stop losing enquiries you already receive. Site and sector pages usually take a few months to be found, depending on competition. We don't guarantee rankings or signed clients.
We run several sites. Does each need its own page?
Yes. Buyers filter by location first, so each warehouse needs its own page, map listing, capability list and enquiry route. Reporting is split by site so you can see which one needs filling.
Which social platforms matter most for a 3PL or warehouse?
LinkedIn first: operations and e-commerce leads check your company page and your people before they ask for a visit. YouTube carries site tours and process walk-throughs they can watch in advance. Keep each site on Google Business Profile with real floor photos, and answer quick capacity questions on WhatsApp with a link to your enquiry form.
Do we get a free website for our warehouse?
Yes. Every monthly plan includes a free 5-page website for your warehouse — fast, AI-readable and yours to keep. It goes live within 48 hours once your plan is active and the launch checklist is done. Your domain, hosting and any paid tools sit outside the offer and stay in your name; online shops and booking systems are quoted separately. What's included
