QA asked about excursion handling. Your site never mentions it.
Your vehicles are qualified, your monitoring is continuous and your audits go well. Yet pharma and food clients shortlist providers they have never used, because those providers published their compliance, temperature ranges and excursion process where a quality team could read them. This playbook shows what that screen checks.
The short versionMost cold chain providers fail the shortlist screen because their site doesn't state the temperature ranges, certifications, monitoring and excursion process a quality team checks, doesn't explain what drives cost, and answers audit questionnaires slowly. Evidence-backed compliance pages and a fast quality response fix this.

Why a proven provider still fails the screen
Quality teams don't take your word. They check what you publish.
Cold chain buyers are rarely looking for a brochure. A pharma quality lead or a food technologist asks search or an assistant for providers with a range, a lane and a certification, then reads the compliance detail before anyone is called: certifications, qualified equipment, monitoring, the excursion process. Providers that publish that detail clearly get the questionnaire. Providers that say “temperature-controlled solutions” are filtered out before contact.

The credential search you never match
Cold chain partner for frozen food?
1Food logistics specialistNamed first · certs listed
Buyers ask “GDP-compliant 2–8°C transport” or “frozen food storage with HACCP”. A site that says “temperature-controlled” with no ranges, certifications or monitoring detail gives search and assistants nothing to match, so a provider that published its credentials gets the questionnaire.

The cost question hidden behind “bespoke”

Should a cold chain provider explain its pricing online?
Cold chain pricing genuinely varies, so most providers say “bespoke solutions” and stop. Buyers read that as slow or expensive. A page that explains what moves the price (range, packaging, monitoring, lane, transit time, volume, validation) and what a quote includes gets you onto the list.

Why do our cold chain RFIs go nowhere?
Quality teams screen several providers at once with the same questionnaire. The provider who returns a complete, current pack the same day sets the standard; the one whose quality manager replies a fortnight later is usually already out. Requests need an owner and a ready pack.

Five moves, in the order that pays.

Questions cold chain providers ask
Straight answers, no sales script.
Straight answers. If yours isn't here, a 30-minute call is the fastest route — no pitch, no deck.
Is it safe to publish our compliance detail online?
Publish what a quality team needs to screen you: certifications held, ranges, equipment types, monitoring approach and how excursions are handled. Internal SOPs and audit reports can stay in a pack shared on request. Your quality lead decides where the line sits.
Who writes and approves the technical content?
We research, structure and draft it so buyers and assistants can follow it. Your quality or compliance lead reviews and approves every page, and we show who reviewed it and when. We never publish a compliance claim you can't evidence.
Should pharma and food have separate pages?
Yes. The standards, vocabulary and decision-makers differ, and a page that tries to serve both usually reads as generic to each. Shared capability can be described once and referenced from both.
Should we explain what happens when a shipment goes out of range?
Yes, in general terms: how excursions are detected, who is alerted and what the client receives. Every quality team asks, and a provider that answers openly reads as more confident than one that avoids the subject.
How long before a cold chain provider notices a difference?
Quality-response fixes can show within weeks, because they stop losing screens you're already in. Range and credential pages usually take a few months to be found and cited. We don't guarantee rankings or contracts.
Do you work with providers that only do storage, or only transport?
Yes. The compliance, range and response work is the same. A storage-only operator also needs clear site pages; a transport-only operator needs lane and vehicle pages.
Which social platforms matter most for a cold chain provider?
LinkedIn, because pharma and food quality teams check your company page and the people behind it before they request a pack. YouTube is where loading, monitoring and excursion handling can be shown rather than claimed. Only post the ranges, lanes and audits you can evidence; a quality team will ask for the paperwork behind every claim.
Do we get a free website for our company?
Yes. Every monthly plan includes a free 5-page website for your company — fast, AI-readable and yours to keep. It goes live within 48 hours once your plan is active and the launch checklist is done. Your domain, hosting and any paid tools sit outside the offer and stay in your name; online shops and booking systems are quoted separately. What's included
