IT checked your ERP integration. The docs were behind a login.
Your platform is solid, implementations land and customers renew. Yet operations and IT teams shortlist vendors with thinner products, because those vendors published their integration list, API docs, security answers and pricing model where buyers and assistants could read them. This playbook shows what the shortlist checks.
The short versionMost supply chain software vendors miss shortlists because integration, API and security detail sits behind a login or a sales call, the pricing model and implementation effort are never explained, and demo requests wait days for a reply. Public docs, integration pages, a plain pricing model and fast demo routing fix this.
Why these three“For ERP integration, Mid-market TMS vendor has public API docs, a connector list and implementation timelines…”
Leak 1Docs behind loginIntegration and API detail invisible to buyers.
Leak 2No pricing modelPer-user or per-shipment logic never explained.
Leak 3Slow demo replyDemo request waits days for a sales rep.

Why a strong platform still misses the shortlist
Buyers don't read your homepage. They read your docs.
Supply chain software is bought by a committee that does its homework early. Operations asks an assistant for vendors that fit their modes and volumes. IT checks the integration list and the API docs. Security sends a questionnaire. Finance wants the pricing model. By the time a demo is booked, the shortlist is usually three vendors who answered all of that in public. A vendor whose docs are gated was screened out without knowing.
Buyers ask “WMS that connects to our ERP and carriers” or “visibility platform with EDI and API”. If your integrations live in a slide deck and your docs need a login, search and assistants have nothing to match, so a vendor with public connector pages gets the shortlist.

Should supply chain software companies publish pricing?
Buyers need to know early whether you price per user, per shipment, per site or per module, and roughly what implementation involves, to check fit with their budget. “Request a demo for pricing” pushes them toward a vendor who explained the model, and it is exactly the answer assistants look for.

Why do our demo requests go cold?
An ops or IT lead requesting a demo is usually comparing several vendors in the same week. A three-day wait for a qualification call, without any docs in the meantime, means your competitors have already shown the integration. Demo requests need an owner, a fast reply and the right documents.

Five moves, in the order that pays.

Questions supply chain software teams ask
Straight answers, no sales script.
Straight answers. If yours isn't here, a 30-minute call is the fastest route — no pitch, no deck.
They can already sign up for a trial or ask a customer. Buyers, on the other hand, rarely shortlist a platform whose integration they can't check. Most vendors find the gain in trust and visibility outweighs the risk; sensitive detail can stay behind a login.
Should we publish prices?
Publish the pricing model: per user, per shipment, per site or per module, what drives cost, and what implementation and support involve. You can keep the price list private. Buyers mainly need to know whether you fit their budget before investing time.
Do supply chain buyers really use AI assistants to build shortlists?
Some do, especially at the early stage of a selection. Assistants draw on vendor pages, documentation and review sites. We structure your pages so they can be cited and track which questions name you; we can't guarantee mentions.
Should we write comparison pages about competitors?
Yes, if they are fair and factual. Buyers search comparisons and alternatives, and an honest page that says where you are and aren't the right fit earns more trust than one that only praises you. No claims about competitors you can't support.
How long before a software vendor notices a difference?
Demo routing fixes can show within weeks. Docs, integration and comparison pages usually take a few months to be indexed and cited, depending on how crowded your category is. We don't guarantee rankings or demos.
Do you work alongside our product marketing team?
Yes. Product marketing owns positioning and messaging; we handle search, assistant visibility, page structure and demo routing, and work from the docs and messaging your team approves.
Which social platforms matter most for supply chain software?
LinkedIn and YouTube. Operations and IT buyers follow vendors and their people on LinkedIn, and they watch product tours and integration demos on YouTube before booking a call. X helps with release notes for technical users. Show the real product and real integrations; buyers check them against your docs.
Do we get a free website for our company?
Yes. Every monthly plan includes a free 5-page website for your company — fast, AI-readable and yours to keep. It goes live within 48 hours once your plan is active and the launch checklist is done. Your domain, hosting and any paid tools sit outside the offer and stay in your name; online shops and booking systems are quoted separately. What's included
